2008 Antinori Tignanello

I opened one of my bottles of the 2008 Antinori Tignanello this past week in Del Rio with a few of my business associates. I had been holding this wine in my collection for several years. Well, my patience was greatly rewarded!

The color was inky purple with a fruit-filled nose. There were notes of ripe dark fruit and spice on the palate accompanied by smooth tannins. The finish was luxuriously long with chocolate, mocha, and spice.

I will hold my last bottle of 2008 to allow it to evolve. This vintage has at least another 10 years or more before it peaks.

So, if you are fortunate enough to have this vintage in your collection (or have friends who do), then you are in for a true treat when it is opened!
