These notes were from a tasting hosted by Steve Tanzer earlier in the year at Toqueville, a great restaurant near union square in NY. Roumier is a great maker, and his wines really come into their own after 15 years or so.

We got to taste 14 wines (1 corked) from youngest to oldest and it was very educational and delicious). the 88 was a great surprise and made me shop for other 88s to try. The 83 was the surprise of the evening, but I have not been able to find a bottle since.

It is also nice to put a face and personality to the reviews that I have followed. I think all of the bottles came from Steve's personal cellar and were bought directly from the winery
