2004
Canalicchio di Sopra - Brunello di Montalcino
Herb satchel on the nose, dusty, earth, and some fruit elements as well. The tannins have really fleshed out on this and is drinking quite well. A good mix of fruit and non-fruit make this easily pair-able with a wide variety of food.
2003
Scacciadiavoli - Sagrantino di Montefalco
Juicy, dark berry fruit and a little tar. This i richer that what I prefer, the 2006 is more herbaceous and much better in my opinion
1994
Leoville Las Cases
Dark purple in color and showing gravel, earth, dark berry fruit and mineral on the nose. Robust with dark cherries, more gravel and mineral and firm tannin on the finish. This wine opened up beautifully over a 3 hour period.
2011
Ken Wright - Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard
Violets, cedar, bright red fruits and a touch of earth. This is delicious! I'm getting more of this.
2006
Audibert & Delas - Hermitage Marquise de la Tourette
Good fruit - raspberries - tobacco, cedar, earth. Looking forward to drinking these over the next few years.
