2007 Zind-Humbrecht - Riesling Clos Windsbuhl
I dearly love this wine! It's color is pale gold and it is packed with citrus and minerality! There is an unmistakable note of lime zest on the palate accompanied by a wonderful salinity. This is a nicely structured and balanced wine with a number of years left to enjoy. The finish was fresh and clean.

2006 Canon la Gaffeliere
This was a wonderfully complex wine. The nose was fruity and floral with a hint of tobacco. I enjoyed blackberry on the palate that was nicely balanced with the wine's acidity and nicely refined tannins. The finish reminded me of dark chocolate. The wine provided a lovely, long finish. Decant first!

2009 Zind-Humbrecht - Riesling Herrenweg de Turckheim
I enjoyed this bottle as much as the first. Certainly, there was the apple, citrus, and spice on the palate. However, what I missed in my first review was the hint of lemon zest on the finish. This was a treat!

2007 Freemark Abbey - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
This was one smooth delight! Wonderful notes of black currant were on the nose. The palate was also that of black current, white pepper, and just a hint of anise. The tannins and acidity were well integrated with the fruit to create a wonderful, balanced sensation on the palate. The finish was equally enjoyable and smooth, but interestingly, not too long.

2007 Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon - Rites of Passage
Tonight, my oldest daughter (33) requested to taste red wine. Heretofore, her tastes leaned toward dry to semi-dry whites. Of course, I enjoyed many of those vintages with her. This evening at dinner; however, was different!I had...

2007 Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino
This wine was a true delight! As with the 2008 Tignanello, I had held the 2007 Campogiovanni Brunello for several years and opened it with my business associates while on a road trip in Del Rio. There was an engaging initial...

2008 Antinori Tignanello
I opened one of my bottles of the 2008 Antinori Tignanello this past week in Del Rio with a few of my business associates. I had been holding this wine in my collection for several years. Well, my patience was greatly...
