Sass - Pinot Noir
A little thinner in the mid palate than previous bottles. Fruit was still apparent. Tannins had nice grip.
Barboursville - Nebbiolo Reserve
Notes of tar, spice, tobacco and cedar initially. Rose petal revealed itself later. Went well with homemade beef stroganoff and with chocolate mouse cake. Let it open 20+ mins.
Bert Simon - Kaseler Kehrnagel Riesling Auslese
Dark yellow. Notes of petrol, almond and honey. Sweet finish that lingers. 17/20
Paitin - Nebbiolo d'Alba Ca Veja
Brickish reddish color. Dried red cherries on the nose. Very tight initially, opened up after a few hours. Added scents of leather, spice and graphite to the dried cherries. After opening, tannins integrated very nicely. Either needs a lot of room to breathe or time in the bottle. 17/20
