Stags' Leap Winery - Petite Syrah
I drank the 2007 last night for a reference and was blown away by this wine. Concentrated, full-flavor and lasting finish made it obvious that Stag's Leap Petite Syrah is best aged. The tannins had receded enough to let the varied flavors come to the front, which doesn't happen in the younger vintages. At the halfway mark on the bottle, the finish got dryer and oakier. Like great woman, this wine took awhile to get started but rocked my night!

Caymus - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
A lot of blueberry in the first few drinks. A little more fruit forward than I prefer but overall a good wine. More oak and dust on the second glass. I prefer the aroma to the taste. Looking forward to trying it tomorrow after it site a day.
