RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes inventory changes to a wide number of people. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all the stuff you want to read online. For the consumer, an aggregator or reader, either web-based or installed on your computer, ties it all together.

To make use of this information, you have to download and install an RSS feed reader like SharpReader. Every so often, the aggregator checks the RSS feeds you selected. You log on to the aggregator and see the updates to your favorite sites, blogs and stores, all in one place. For more information on RSS, please visit:

2004 Villeneuve - Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes
Like biting into a crisp red cherry. Elegant, seductive and refreshing. Very much alive after 10 years. Not overly complex but thoroughly enjoyable. Very nice drinking now; should have a few years left

(Tasted Apr 12, 2014)

2008 Janasse - Cotes du Rhone Blanc
Still fresh and slightly floral with honeyed notes of age. A cozy accompaniment to our cheese course.

2003 Grand Veneur - Chateauneuf du Pape Les Origines
Dark but by no means opaque. Leather, spice and some black fruits. Intense, exuberant, but also fresh. A real success for 2003. Double decanted an hour in advance. Continued to open throughout the meal. Very nice. Still youthful; more years ahead.

(Tasted Apr 8, 2014)

2002 Viret - Solstice VdP Porte de Mediterranee
Light bodied, consistent with the poor vintage. Still vibrant with hints of fruit. For a meal or cheese

(Tasted Apr 7, 2014)

2005 Rene et Vincent Dauvissat - Chablis La Forest 1er Cru
Still a bit closed but with an attractive combination of white flowers and seashells on the nose and a very mineral palate. Outstanding structure is its strong suit: acidity balanced with concentration and followed by great length. Still intellectual vs. hedonistic. Last sip was the best sip of all. A good sign. Try again in a year.
