4 Kilos - Binissalem-Mallorca Red
in a blind testing for spanish wines (850 participants) this one won the first place and was named best spanish wine 2008, receiving 98/100 points (average rating among the testers).
Numanthia - Numanthia
Frankly, I was somewhat disappointed from this highly rated wine. Decanted for about 3 hours, but the wine was still pretty closed. I guess this one needs much more time in the cellar. The main reason for my disappointment though was that the wine was completely over-oxydiced on the second day. Lot's of Sherry on the nose. Overall I still give this a high rating because even though it was closed on the first day, it still tasted much better than most other wines in that price range. And it seems to have a lot of potential when given time. After all, Parker can't be wrong. Right? Will revisit in a couple of years.
