2005 Lignier, Lucie et Auguste - Chambolle-Musigny Les Bussieres 1er Cru
Rose pink rim disappearing into garnet core. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, sous-bois, and a little stalkiness. Palate reveals flavors of Sour cherry, blackcurrant, minerals, iron, spice, sweet oak, and autumn leaves with medium acidity, medium-plus body, medium-plus tannins, with a good mineral spine. Lots of grip, with the tannins ending up just a little angular on the 30-second finish. More oak began to emerge after an hour in glass. Hold for 2 years.

2006 Felsina - Chianti Classico Rancia Riserva (Berardenga)
Crimson rim with red-purple core. Quite dark, but with good clarity. Black fruit and mild sweet oak on the muted nose. Palate shows dark, plummy and overripe sweet cherry fruit, with high glycerin levels, medium-plus to high tannins, medium-minus acidity, some medicinal flavors, nice minerality, talc, full body, and some background forest scents. Long, 60+ second finish full of plummy fruit and powdery tannins. This is excellent with plenty of room to get better.

2004 Faiveley, Joseph - Gevrey Chambertin Les Craipillots 1er Cru
Spoiled. Lactobacillus contamination.

2002 Heitz - Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard
Black fruit, with notes of menthol, eucalyptus, and cocoa. Tannins were never much, but they've smoothed out. Not one for the long haul.

2006 Alesia - Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
Clearish pink rim to light pomegranate core. Nose is a bit shut down at this point, with confected notes of strawberry showing. Flavors of strawberry, cranberry, and brown spice, with medium acidity, medium-minus tannins a long, 45 second finish with good acidic tang. Drink or hold 3-5 years.
