Egly-Ouriet Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru
It was lovely with fine bubbles and a toasty flavour. one could almost taste the 100% Pinot Noir in it; it was slightly chewy.
Deep ruby colour with some browning at the edge; was fine and elegant on the palate with some fruit showing but at the end there was some dryness; perhaps past its peak? It was overshadowed by the 82 Pichon-Baron on the night
deep ruby robe with some browning at the edge; lovely and elegant on the palate with notes of red cherries; a long finish; it outperformed the 82 Pontet-Canet on the night.
Pierre Morey - Meursault Les Perrieres 1er Cru
Superb. It had lovely fresh acidity, fattness on the palate with a long finish with notes of almonds, honey and peaches. Still not at its peak.
Isole e Olena - Chardonnay Collezione de Marchi
Light golden colour; fresh notes on the nose; fine and long and sweet on the palate; not as complex as a Burgundy but the finest Italian Chardonnay I have ever drunk
