Pale colour; nice bite with notes of minerality and characteristic "cats-piss" flavour on the palate; nice length

2006 Badia a Passignano - Chianti Classico Riserva
Deep red colour; typical Chianti nose though it needed some time to open; very nice sweet notes of red cherry on the palate with vanilla; it still had quite pronounced tannins, suggesting that it still has a few years left

very light colour; pronounced "burnt matchstick" nose indicating strong reduction; burnt flavour on the palate giving way to notes of vanilla and honey; drinking very well

Very deep red/almost purple colour; very heady on the nose; very strong on the palate with notes of black fruits and spices; a long finish; not far behind the Richebourg 96 for the title of red wine of the night
