RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes inventory changes to a wide number of people. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all the stuff you want to read online. For the consumer, an aggregator or reader, either web-based or installed on your computer, ties it all together.

To make use of this information, you have to download and install an RSS feed reader like SharpReader. Every so often, the aggregator checks the RSS feeds you selected. You log on to the aggregator and see the updates to your favorite sites, blogs and stores, all in one place. For more information on RSS, please visit:

1990 Beaucastel - Chateauneuf du Pape
Opened and decanted it 6 hours before drinking; quite a deep red colour; spice and earthy notes on the nose; the tannins were very soft and it had sweet notes of plums and red fruits; needs to be drunk up pretty soon

(Tasted Apr 13, 2014)

1998 Zind-Humbrecht - Riesling Brand
Very deep golden/amber colour; strong petrol-like nose; a wonderful blend of sweetness and dry on the palate with oriental fruits and honey flavours; superb

(Tasted Apr 6, 2014)

1966 Montrose
some browning at the edge but otherwise a good colour; nose a bit vegetal to begin with; opened up in the glass and had some nice fruit on the palate though was drying up at the end

(Tasted Apr 6, 2014)

2005 Morey-Blanc - Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru
pale golden colour; lovely acidity on the palate ending in sweet notes of honey and almonds; very fine and with some way to go yet

(Tasted Apr 6, 2014)

1948 Leoville Barton
Good level (high shoulder); light ruby colour; opened up quickly to reveal elegance and some fruit on the palate; really surprised at how well it had held up; a lovely old claret

(Tasted Apr 6, 2014)
