RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes inventory changes to a wide number of people. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all the stuff you want to read online. For the consumer, an aggregator or reader, either web-based or installed on your computer, ties it all together.

To make use of this information, you have to download and install an RSS feed reader like SharpReader. Every so often, the aggregator checks the RSS feeds you selected. You log on to the aggregator and see the updates to your favorite sites, blogs and stores, all in one place. For more information on RSS, please visit:

1995 Scopetone - Brunello di Montalcino
Clear garnet core with high rim variation of tawny and brickish colors. Clean bouquet of leather, dark fruit and sandalwood. Dry palate of Blackberry, woody and meaty characters. Medium acidity and devolving tannins. A beautiful, classic brunello with medium body probably at its peak, drink now!

2006 Felsina - Chianti Classico Rancia Riserva (Berardenga)
Dark ruby red in color. Clean developing bouquet of earth, graphite and dark fruit. Medium bodied on the palate with black cherry, and diminishing oak again. Tannins are very high at the end coating the teeth but they work with this one. Not an overtly complex wine, but enjoyable and classic

2001 Tornesi - Brunello di Montalcino
Opaque, brickish crimson in color with tawny rim variation. Clean nose of leather, blackberry fruit and mushrooms. Dense palate of black fruit, tar and gamy flavors. Big mouth feel with chewy tannins and acid prominent but fairly well integrated. Recommend with read meat with healthy fat content. Notes on the label actually advise decanting for 2 hours before drinking.

2006 Felsina - Fontalloro
Inky in color with dark fruit and some minerality aromas on the nose. Well structured mouth-feel with deep licorice, pepper and figs on the palate. Well integrated tannins. This was tasted next to a chianti classico and the differences were immense, next to this the chianti seemed languid and flat. Great value.
