Vieux-Telegraphe - Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc (La Crau)
Opened a 2006 Vieux-Telegraphe CDP Blanc this week. It was nice, opened up with some air, definitely better with food than on its own. Nice balance of fruit and minerality.
2008
Paul Hobbs - Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard
Dark, deep saturated color, plenty of dark red fruits - plum, current - with nice mineral qualities. Definitely opened up over an hour or so, becoming more fruit-forward, balanced. Wonderful to drink now, will age well for years.
2009
Leflaive (Domaine) - Bourgogne Blanc
Lovely nose with citrus and peach. Nice body with a wonderful balance of fruit and acid that's typical of a classic white burgundy. Given the price point, this is a fantastic wine to drink now and over the next few years.
2004
Dal Forno - Valpolicella Superiore (Vigneto di Monte Ladoletta)
A bold wine, lots of dark berry and mineral, definitely exhibits tannin now but opens up nicely after a few hours. OK to drink now but this will get better with age - a great buy for the cellar.
2007
Ramey - Claret
Just a delightful wine. Hints of blueberry, nice balance of acid. Light-bodied but very flavorful. Great to drink on its own or with food.
