2008
Sebastiani - Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley
Cabernet that approaches the best Napa Valley has to offer at a fraction of the price. Strong dark cherry and plum aromas on the nose with a hint of vanilla in the finish.
2007
Perrin & Fils - Chateauneuf du Pape Les Sinards
Ripe plum and boysenberry aromas. Not a lot of layers or complexity to this one. Rounded tannins. Agree with other reviews that called it a little light on the fruit. Definitely wouldn't wait any longer to drink.
2005
Castellare - Brunello di Montalcino
Overpowering fruit aroma on the nose. Mix of ripe and dark cherry, plum. Not layered or overly complex. Full bodied with polished tannins. Drinking really well right now. Whoever gave it a 90 must have drank it too early, definitely needed a good 5-6 years in bottle.
