Rhys - Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard
92 points, Burghound
October 2009
A ripe and distinctly floral nose that reveals light spice notes to the plum and dark berry fruit aromas that precede very rich, round and substantial flavors blessed with excellent dry extract that buffers the firm structural elements on the delicious, mouth coating and very serious finish. It's clear that the phenolics are completely mature and as such, this could be drunk now with pleasure (be sure to let it air for an hour first) or held for another 7 to 8 years.

February 2010
With aeration, the firm, structured 2007 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard (a 10-acre site planted at a 1,400 foot elevation) offers up notions of sweet and sour cherries, earth, and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied and pure, with good acidity and texture, this impressive Pinot will benefit from several years of aging. One-hundred percent whole clusters were used in its upbringing.

Michel Magnien - Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrees Vieilles Vignes
International Wine Cellar (Issue 131,89-91)
Bright ruby-red. Ripe dark fruit and bitter chocolate aromas. Supple and sappy, with very good winey depth to its dark fruit and mineral flavors. The persistent finish features fine, palate-coating tannins. Quite primary.

The 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrees Vieilles Vignes offers scents and flavors of black cherry, black raspberry, beet and bitter chocolate, a sweetly rich and formidably dense overall impression, but relative simplicity and considerable astringency.

Corino - Barolo Vigneto Rocche
Score: 93
Release Price: $62
Country: Italy
Region: Piedmont
Issue: Jul 31, 2004
Lots of plum and toasted oak character. Dried flowers. Full-bodied, with supervelvety tannins and an ultrarefined palate. Round, caressing and delicious. Needs time, but so attractive now that it's hard to hold back. Best after 2008. 330 cases made. 'JS

Chablisienne - Chablis Grande Cuvee 1er Cru
Score: 91
Release Price: $28
Country: France
Region: Burgundy
Issue: Aug 31, 2004
Top 100: 2004, Rank: 83
Very refined, with a lemony cast to this firmly structured, minerally white. It's concentrated, elegant and beautifully balanced. It requires time, however, to integrate all its components. Best from 2006 through 2012. 7,500 cases made. 'BS
