Chateau Potelle - Syrah VGS
Potelle's first vintage of their mountainous VGS Syrah...opened up best after 90 minutes...no oxidation, but the wine got a little flabby since last tasted some years ago. Dark Cherries and spice, together with a little earth. Wishing their was still more to it. Looking forward to further vintages.

Macphail Family - Pinot Noir Anderson Valley
Really good stuff here. Light in color, explosive pinot straight out of the bottle. Ocean breeze minerality, mushrooms, strawberry shortcake...with sweet syrupness, yet, for the 14.7%, there is absolutely no hotness to it at all. MacPhail continues to deliver with their own label.

Chateau Potelle - Syrah VGS
Absolutely wonderful what time in the cellar did for this beauty. Mountain boysenberry and blackberry pie, coupled with vanilla and spice...rich and smooth with accents of tobacco and pepper. Really a fantastic cellar choice here.

Roessler - Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard
Decent stuff here from the Petaluma Gap (a sub ava of Sonoma Coast in the future for sure)...great forest floor, eucalyptus notes with small orange peel-sandalwood nose and cranberried cherry taste. Not bad a all..
