Maysara Estate - Pinot Noir Estate Cuvee
beautiful brilliant star bright ruby in color. There is an amazing purity of fruit on the nose of black cherry and brambly spicy strawberry. Palate is soft and elegant with a richness that builds on the mid palate. Flavors of bright red cherry and lush strawberry leads into a fine silky structure of river rock wrapped in luscious acidity that washes over the long balanced finish.
Brilliant ruby red w/no signs of aging. Bold cassis, blackberry, and dark cherry evenly intertwined w/pencil lead and tobacco notes. Classic velvety Margaux on the palate. Rich almost sappy dark fruit reveals the warmth of the 03 growing season. The tannins and acidity are in perfect harmony and indicate the wine will continue to improve although it's fantastic right now.
complex nose of blackberry, stewed plum that comes off kind of fat and cluncy. This leads into wet tobacco, lavender and clove spice blanketed by a prominent saddle leather and subtle barnyard. Despite being a classic and elegant styled wine the blackberry and cassis fruit are rich and bold extending through the mid palate and into the finish. The soft and supple tannins reveal nicely integrated pencil shavings and graphite.
Virginia Marie Lambrix
Garnet w/ pinkish rim. Ripe cherries and strawberries that almost have a strawberry rubarb pie appeal. My son said pen ink and I quite agree. The nose follows through with touches of spice and lavander. Soft and lush palate with rich, nicely integrated cherries and blueberries that meld beautifully with dark ripe tannins. I look forward to trying this again a few years down the road.
