2005
Scarecrow - Cabernet Sauvignon
Decanted for 2 hours prior to consuming. Not the Napa fruit bomb that I was expecting. Balanced and smooth with a great nose of red fruit, cedar notes, and tasty finish. Good now, but it will reward those who can hold off for a few years.
2006
Mollydooker - Shiraz Carnival of Love
Loaded with ripe, purple fruit that stains the pallet. This wine really benefits from a short decanting. After 2 hours a fine balance and velvety texture became evident, as did a pleasant nose of red fruit. Very dense, dark fruit with vanilla and wood undertones. This wine is growing on me. I'm glad I bought a case.
1997
Leflaive (Domaine) - Chevalier-Montrachet
Christmas present for mom. Drank very nicely with a wonderful mineral finish that improved over several hours. Nice floral bouquet with hints of pineapple. One of the better whites from that vintage.
