Mark's wine epiphany while working as a busboy in Sarasota in 1979 started a wine geek collector syndrome which has guided him through many personal taste transitions and eventually dumped him amongst the vines of Burgundy, the Rhone, Champagne and the California Coastline.

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes inventory changes to a wide number of people. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all the stuff you want to read online. For the consumer, an aggregator or reader, either web-based or installed on your computer, ties it all together.

To make use of this information, you have to download and install an RSS feed reader like SharpReader. Every so often, the aggregator checks the RSS feeds you selected. You log on to the aggregator and see the updates to your favorite sites, blogs and stores, all in one place. For more information on RSS, please visit:

2003 Auguste Clape - Cornas
This seemed off, a bit flabby, grainy and rustic. Not exciting flavor/texture wise. Little aromatic interest. A symptom of the vintage? A bad bottle? NR

1998 Chateau de Fonsalette - Cotes du Rhone Rouge (Reserve)
Very pretty, elegant cdr which speaks more to cndp and the deft touch of Rayas than a typical cdr. Drinking well but plenty of time left. Dare say it, burgundian in texture and appeal.

2001 Colle Santa Mustiola - Poggio Ai Chiari
This was hard as nails and not pleasant to drink. I will sit on the rest for many years hoping for the best. NR
