Mark's wine epiphany while working as a busboy in Sarasota in 1979 started a wine geek collector syndrome which has guided him through many personal taste transitions and eventually dumped him amongst the vines of Burgundy, the Rhone, Champagne and the California Coastline.

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes inventory changes to a wide number of people. Think of it as a one-stop shop for all the stuff you want to read online. For the consumer, an aggregator or reader, either web-based or installed on your computer, ties it all together.

To make use of this information, you have to download and install an RSS feed reader like SharpReader. Every so often, the aggregator checks the RSS feeds you selected. You log on to the aggregator and see the updates to your favorite sites, blogs and stores, all in one place. For more information on RSS, please visit:

2005 Boesch, Leon - Cremant d'Alsace Brut Reserve
Toasty, yeast, lime zest. Refreshing and a good value.

2003 Alary - Cairanne Le Font d'Estevenas
This wine drank like a CnDP with no "over-ripeness" known for the vintage. Plum, balance. Nice.

1998 Beausejour (St Emilion)
Drunk with Reg & Eve. 2 Bordeaux & 1 Napa. This offered the most depth & complexity although not earth-shattering.

1998 Sabon, Roger - Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee
This wine started initially with smokey, meaty bouquet signaling possibly great things to come. But alas, with air that blew off to show a decent CNdP but nothing great.

(Tasted Feb 7, 2010)

2006 Swan, Joseph - Syrah Rose Naked Lady
I enjoyed this wine but felt it a little cloying with RS. Strawberry, watermelon, good little quaffer.
