Andrea Oberto - Barolo
Drinking remarkably well. A clear, med intensity ruby color with slight tawny hints at rim. A clean, medium + intensity nose of dried red fruit, leather, smoke, and fresh spices. Wine is dry, with med + acidity, well balanced with moderately high tannin, moderate alcohol, and medium + body. True to nose, with impeccable balance, a classic and memorable expression of Barolo. Just exquisite.
Pupille - Saffredi
Clear, deep ruby purple color. nose of medium + intensity aromas of black fruit (blackberries, black cherries), black pepper, baking spices, leather, grilled meats. Wine is dry, with med alcohol of subtle and elegant integration, med + tannin of velvety and graceful structure, with well balanced acidity, a long pleasant finish and full body. Flavors are true to nose. this wine is at its prime for those who enjoy a classically made super tuscan and left bank bank Bordeaux. Vibrant but elegant. I bought 3 more, it was so well made and received.
