Bogle - Zinfandel Old Vine
Nose: Blackberry and general sweetness - nice!
Body: Have to admit that this one caught me by surprise as I haven't given a Bogle a chance in a very long time...had come to expect a tier III experience. Early berries that devolve into cherries, light vanilla and a virtual cascade of flavors that prime the pallet for a great spicy finish.

Alta Vista - Malbec Grand Reserve
Nose: Light cherry and plum.
Body: Sadly non-descript and quite tart. Arggh. So disappointing, as I had been waiting on this one for a while. :(

Castle Rock - Pinot Noir Monterey County
Nose: Light berries and tobacco.
Body: Great berry medley, though a bit of tartness on the peaks. Not a great deal of distinction...just a nice berry wine.

Toso, Pascual - Malbec
Nose: Wonderfully light with black cherry and leather.
Body: Fairly tart with some rasberry, plums and general mixed berries.
Note: Post-magnet...nose is lighter but body gets dramatically heavier with deeper amber notes and a hint of pepper.
