Alex Gambal - Chambolle-Musigny
In the glass, the wine showed a lot of age. quite bricky with an almost cognac hue. the nose is complex, with mushrooms, wet forrest floor, light jasmine tea. then some stew raspberry after a few hours. when it first enters my mouth, it was so acidic, i was worry that it has gone. to my suprise, it was full of sour cherry, smoky bacon, and black truffle hint at the finish. for a 10 year old village chambolle, it is clear why wine from this area is well worth cellaring. i am not sure if it will develop more, the tannin is still there but only enough providing great structured finish. very very pleased.

Aurilhac
just ticks all the boxes for a cru borgeois. fruit is sweet but not weighty, acid is smooth but not flat, tannin is soft but firm. finish is not as long as i would like, but easily fix with another mouth full quickly follows. it is absolutely peak drinking now.
