2000
Mas de Daumas Gassac - VDP de l'Herault
Delicious and earthy with some floral aromas. Still has a ways to go.
2004
Winter's Hill - Pinot Noir Pommard Clone Cuvee
too much oak at first for my liking. Kinda of light on flavor. The mouth feel was fairly weighty for pinot. Acid and alcohol in balance. After a few hours the oak let up and it started to taste like pinot. Not the greatest wine for thanksgiving dinner
2004
Karl, Robert - Syrah Columbia Valley
way over oaked. Hard to pick up any varietal character. Had potential but the oak murdered it.
2003
Tardieu-Laurent - Cornas Vieilles Vignes
intense could sum it up. Smoked meat, earth, barbque potato chips, Blackberry, rasberry. Muscular, intense fine grain fruit tannins. One of the most complex wines i've ever had. Certainly one of the most interesting. It kinda punches you in the face
