Perrier-Jouet - Fleur de Champagne (Belle Epoque)
fabulous minerality -- crisp on tongue and smooth wet finish. pear and lime. my fav '96
1997
Taittinger - Comtes de Champagne Rose
Truly epic champagne. so much going on, mineral and also some berry and mellow fruit. Long finish -- elegant wine.
1997
Campana - Brunello di Montalcino
earth -- mellow and elegant on finish. no fruit on the nose, yet amazing berries by taste. yum yum!
1997
Felsina - Fontalloro
Life is too short to drink bad wine, wish i had a case of this to make sure I keep to this motto.
So WS has it at 95, and I usually under-rate at the high end and over rate at the low, but on this occassion I have to also give this Felsina produced wine the 95.
First, it is wet, not dirty like most Sangiovese. Steph says smooth, chocolate rasberry -- i say licorice, long elegant finish. Absolutely spectacular I can't wait to own more from Felsina.
