2003
Araujo - Syrah Eisele Vineyard
Fabulous - both Kathleen and I enjoyed it very much. Drinking well now. Great balance and intensity without seeming heavy.
1997
Araujo - Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard
Tobacco and lead pencil on the nose. Very balanced and drinking well now, although not flamboyant (however, Kathleen was quite impressed with it). Seems like it is about in the middle of its drinking window.
1996
Giuseppe Rinaldi - Barolo Brunate/Le Coste
Very strange experience, starting with a nice nose with cherry and floral notes, but tastes of turpentine. Took two whole days before it became drinkable, at which time it seemed reasonably nice, but very tannic and acidic. Makes me wonder if it will come around, so may as well give it much more time.
1998
Bethel Heights - Pinot Noir Southeast Block (Reserve)
Barely showing its age. Very pleasant and balanced with decent fruit. Very classic Pinor Noir.
1997
Argiano - Brunello di Montalcino
Nicely balanced, aging well. No hurry to drink these.
