This had it all, perfumy fruity bouquet, great acid and structure, and fruit, pepper, and wood.

Nice wine, very understated. Possibly a bit low in acid and not terribly aromatic.

1998 Beaurenard - Chateauneuf du Pape
Lots of cherry, probably too much giving it a one-dimensional feel. Also, too much alcohol. I expected a better showing than this.

Nice bright acidity and very chianti like. Good structure but could be more complex
