2006
Tain l'Hermitage - Hermitage Blanc
Nose shows big leesy autolytic character give a lot of weight but not much clarity. Peach, white flowers and a whole lot of cheese. Palate seemed flat, ox/ald,big texture but a strangely bitter hot finish.
2007
Norman Hardie - Pinot Noir County
Far too young to be fully appreciated at this stage. Taut acidity, red fruit focus, keen minerally edge. Needs time and plenty of it, one or two years minimum.
2007
Henri Bourgeois - Sancerre Les Baronnes
Les Baronnes is always reliable. Gooseberry, steely, grassy...somehow manages to be both somewhat opulent and nicelyl refined. Clean, bright and nicely textured from voluptuous fruit attack to mouthwatering lemon tang finish. Was awesome with two separate dinners: fancy pants mussels fettucini in a white wine and butter sauce, and cheap'n'easy comfort food, tuna melts with mac & potato salad.
