1998
Torres, Miguel - Cabernet Sauvignon Mas la Plana (Black Label)
Another chunky wine laden with aromas of sage, Thai basil, rich ripe blackberry and dark fruit jam. There is also a healthy dose of oak. On the palate there is a meaty texture, but sweet fruit does shine. It is opulent and racy. It is a wine that does need time as oak and tannin dominate the finish.
1996
Torres, Miguel - Cabernet Sauvignon Mas la Plana (Black Label)
This is a perfect wine for a steak. The nose is subtle, but earthy and woodsy, with some nice dark cherry coming through. The palate is complex, with plenty of smoke, pencil shavings and cigar box flavors. It's got strong tannins but not to the point where they dominate, and the fruit still shows through nicely. A great wine to sit in front of a new, or old, fireplace and enjoy the warmth.
2007
Mt Boucherie - Semillon Estate Collection
The nose on this wine displays a slight herbal note with aromas of pineapple and apricot, followed by flavours of nectarine, fig and honey on the palate. A well-balanced, fresh, crisp wine that is perfect to enjoy on its own or with food.
Pair with seafood, also a great match with sushi.
2005
Mt Boucherie - Summit
This Bordeaux style red is full, rich and well balanced. Succulent aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant and plum are deepened by soft silky tannins and an extended black pepper finish.
A hearty red that is perfect with barbequed steak, lamb and bison.
2005
Mt Boucherie - Blaufrankisch Summit Reserve
An Austrian varietal, also known as Lemberger. This wine displays wonderful aromas and flavours of blueberry and plum with highlights of leather and spice. Barrel aged for 18 months in French oak. A medium-bodied red with smooth, soft tannins and a long finish.
Excellent with lamb, vegetarian dishes and tomato-based pasta dishes.
