Pierre et Catherine Breton - Chinon Beaumont
Always love this producer, but wanted a bit more in this wine, even though it's their early-drinking cru. It had pretty roasted red fruits and spice, but some green notes.
Frederic Magnien - Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes
Not my favorite Gevrey. Good, but nothing in particular stood out. Dark red fruits, decent weight, needed time to open, but didn't really bloom.
A very nice Bordeaux. Med bodied, dark black fruits including blackberry & cassis. Roasted fruit quality, and also nice levels of oak, earth and spice. No rough edges.
Deep gold, mature. Honey, apricots, dried peaches, and tropical fruits, along with good dose of spice. Heavy and syrupy on the tongue. Very nice!
Serene - Pinot Noir Yamhill Cuvee
Needed time to open up. Medium bodied, nice red cherry fruit with floral notes, but something "hot" about it. Would try another vintage and drink sooner.
