Turley - Zinfandel Old Vines
Another generic blend made from lots culled from the single vineyard Zinfandels is the 2007 Zinfandel Old Vines. It is a softer, slightly fuller offering than the Juvenile, with blacker fruits, and notes of damp earth, plums, and pepper. Ripe and fleshy, it is best consumed over the next 3-5 years.

Clos St-Jean - Chateauneuf du Pape (Vieilles Vignes)
This is a truly good wine. First decanted for about 2.5 - 3 hours. Had it with oven roasted thyme potatoes, heavily reduced red wine sauce and rib steak, tones of violets emerged surrounded by leathery silky tones of dark red berries. Well balanced and just a touch of heat which I look for in a young red wine. My only question is what will happen in the future... Can't wait...
