Pegau - Chateauneuf du Pape (Cuvee Reservee)
Amazing. Full stop. Love at first sight. Maybe it is because the wine represents some sort of essence of my personal taste, but still the 2003 Cuvée Réservée simply "delivers". The balance between fruit, oak and tannins is perfect though not subtle at all. Dark berries and limestone - probably depending on the food and cheese chosen. (Oven roasted sweet potatoes with thyme, rosemary and garlic, red wine sauce and filét mignon followed by Gruyère, Appenzeller Extra and Comté) Decanted for about two hours. Glad I have a few bottles left... I will definitely let them rest for a few years.
