1964
Haut-Brion
just beautiful, perfect nose, declined after 45 minutes but until then it was well worth the wait of 48 years. drink up
1990
Krug - Brut Vintage
Full bodied, rich and toasty. It had aromas of dried apricot, smoke, orange, some minerals and a hint of toffee. This champagne is well balanced and smooth. It is deliciously elegant for its denseness. I personally prefer the 1988 of the three back to back years (88,89,90), but this is almost too close to call. Seems like this one could go for another 15 years.
1982
Gruaud Larose
Excellent balance and beautiful finesse. Such great aromas of plum and leather, along with delicate earth tones. The fruit structure is amazing and is holding up so nicely. It has a long finish with soft tannins and lively fruit with a wonderful purity about it. I highly recommend this gem of a bordeaux!!
1982
Lynch-Bages
This wine is the most complete Lynch-Bages that I have ever tasted. I thought the 1985 was suberb, but the 1982 adds another dimension that eclips all other vintages in this stage of evolution. It exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color, as well as a knock-out nose of minerals, licorice, cassis, and an unmistakable lead pencil smell that reminds me of top Lafite vintages. It is rich yet no sense of heaviness. I tasted a ting of sweetness of black currant and a hint of blackberry in its flavor profile. What an awesome Lynch-Bages. My favorite vintage ever tasted.
1997
Alain Voge - Cornas Cuvee Vieilles Vignes
very smooth, good fruit, elegant finish.
