I really wanted to like this wine what with the resources behind the venture. A disapointment, tasting like a aged Franciscan or other mid packer. The nose was weak Napa with some semblance of leather and pencil lead, really struggling to either break out, or more likely hold on for its life...at 9 years old. It washed out quickly with bruised fruit and just a weak delivery of flavor. The finish was more like London Broil than Dry Aged Rib eye, well below expectation. Boo Hoo
Bert Simon - Serriger Wurtzberg Riesling Spatlese
Luscious mouth feel with exotic flavors like lychee nuts and apricots. The nose has an almost sauterne edge to it with a bit of funkiness; I believe its nearing its sell by date. The rare Riesling that my SBlanc devoted bride actually liked.
