Caravan - Cabernet Sauvignon
Good lord, this wine is good. Layered, rich, synaesthetic. Don't drink it: I want more.
Ponzi - Pinot Gris
Color: Very pale straw Nose: Grapefruit, melon Body: Light to Medium Front: Sparkly caperberries Middle: Lime cupcake Back: Lemon butter, and way out at the end, pear. You don't know what "sparkly caperberries" or "lime cupcake" are, and I don't either, but that's associative tasting for you. If nothing else, it can serve as a counterexample to all you prospective sommeliers out there. Suffice it to say that I'll buy this wine again, especially to serve to other people. Summers - Cabernet Sauvignon Andriana's Cuvee
Color: Dark red with purple tinge Nose: Raspberries, cinnamon, spice Body: Medium Palate: Cherries, then licorice or peppermint, then ginger, and a hint of caramel on the way out. See my full review at http://caveatemptyer.blogspot.com/2008/12/summers-winery-cabernet-sauvignon.html
Pazo Serantellos - Albarino
Light gold in color. Medium legs. Nose: Honey, Banana. Palate: Peach, Dill, a little steel-belted radial at the very end. Light/Medium bodied. Fleshly in texture. Medium finish. Full review at http://caveatemptyer.blogspot.com/2008/12/pazo-serantillos-albarino.html .
