Gabriel et Paul Jouard - Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru
Consistent notes. Light golden hue. Full, rich nose of tropical fruit, citrus & spice. rich, refined, and long on the palate; subtle use of wood, with good acidity and balance. Delicious.
Vincent Girardin - Volnay Les Santenots 1er Cru
Med red; full nose of black fruit, spice, & wood, with a dominant gamey/mushroom component hinting of bret; similar flavors with the same subtle gamey quality and lovely soft yet intense underlying fruit; soft integrated tannins. Long intense finish. Drink over the next 2 to 3 years.
Claudie Jobard - Rully Montagne La Folie
Consistent notes. Full rich nose of tropical fruit and a touch of oak; lovely entry on the palate with plenty of fruit yet crispness and balance; a bit rustic but in a sensual way; really quite delicious for a villages Rully and a step up from her straight villages; long finish.
Trimbach - Riesling Cuvee Frederic Emile
Consistent notes. Medium golden color showing some age but bright and crisp on the nose and palate; aromas of citrus (lemon & lime), melon, diesel and minerals; impressively rich on the palate with similar flavors, wonderful balance and a stony crispness; elegant, complex flavors on the long finish; a wonderful dry riesling second only in quality to Clos St. Hune, it should continue to drink well for several more years.
Consistent notes with further bottle development. Lovely; full, rich; slight mocha on the nose; lots of depth; lovely ripe fruit; good follow-through; balanced; still youthful with firm tannins typical of the vintage beginning to soften; enjoyable now but will benefit from more bottle age.
