Patrick et Christophe Bonnefond - Cote Rotie Les Rochains
Consistent notes. Good deep crimson red; full rich syrah nose with touch of leather, cedar, and oak; lovely and rich on the palate with intense fruit paired with nice acid balance and integrated tannins; long, elegant finish. Drinking well now and should continue to do so for several more years.
Robert Chevillon - Nuits St Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru
Consistent notes. Med. dark ruby to mahogany; lovely rich nose of red & black fruit, flowers, & spice; similar flavors on the palate; soft integrated tannins; excellent structure and good acid backbone; rich yet complex and elegant; long finish. Drinking well now and should continue to do so for a few more years.
Jamet - Cote-Rotie
Consistent notes. Still fresh and vigorous. Med.-dark ruby to mahogany color; full nose of black fruit, haberdashery, & spice; similar flavors with additional notes of camphor, black berries, smoke and a hint of mushrooms; very good concentration, complexity, and balance; full & rich plus a good acid level brings vibrancy; soft integrated tannins; lovely long finish. An excellent Cote Rotie that will hold for several more years.
Nicolas Potel - Nuits St Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru
Consistent notes. Medium brick red color; nice slightly herbal black fruit nose; soft and velvety on the palate; somewhat lean fruit; soft integrated tannins; nice long finish. Good but not great. Ready now but should drink well for a few years.
Consistent notes. Holding up well; soft tannins but vigorous w/good grip; masculine style typical of 1988 but not as hard; haberdashery & exotic spices components; complex & elegant w/a very long finish; great now but will hold.
