Vincent Girardin - Corton-Renardes (Vieilles Vignes)
Consistent notes. Good still youthful color; ripe oaky rich nose of black fruit, smoke, leather, and spices; full bodied & masculine, good structure and acidity but not too hard & austere; very good integrated tannins; very good intensity of ripe fruit; long lovely finish; an excellent Corton that will continue to drink well for several more years.
Joseph Drouhin - Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Consistent notes; no further bottle development. Med. brick red color; lovely perfumed nose; lovely black & red fruit with good backbone, soft integrated tannins, good intensity but lacks complexity; long finish. Fully mature but will hold for a couple more years.
Condorcet - Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Med.-dark garnet red; nice full nose of red & black fruit, pepper and other spices, and haberdashery; similar but even more complex flavors; rich and well balanced; med. bodied; soft integrated tannins; fully mature but should hold for a few more years.
Dark ruby. Intense nose of plum, herbs, black fruit, and coffee. Similar flavors, rich and full with good intensity balanced with bright acid. Significant still youthful tannins are beginning to soften. Long apple-tinged peppery finish. Entering its drinking plateau and may show further bottle development. Excellent.
Yves Cuilleron - St Joseph Le Lombard Blanc
Light greenish yellow gold color; predominantly citrus/lemon, green apple, lychee nuts & minerals on the nose and palate; medium-full falvored & spicy yet crisp & focused; excellent long mineral & citrus-driven finish. Drink now and over the next couple of years.
