1994
Schloss Saarstein - Serriger Schloss Saarsteiner Riesling Spatlese
Nice petrol nose and beautiful acid with no edges. I can imagine that the acid was more pronounced a few years earlier. Terrific pairing with a variety of foods.

Bernhard Ott - Riesling Von Rotem Schotter
Quite dry, precise and satisfying. Excellent minerals and balance.
2007
Dr Randolf Kauer - Oberweseler Oelsberg Riesling Spatlese Trocken
Simply beautiful Mittelrhein dry wine. Superb minerals and a subtle and precise texture. Just a hint of sweetness. I am new to these dry Rieslings but love it - great with a wide variety of food and cheese. Enjoyed it at an open air summer concert.
2004
Donnhoff - Oberhauser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett
Greenish gold. A little bit of C02, a bit of petrol. More spatlese like sweetness and nice finish. Definitely hints of lemon, peach. Not a particularly long finish but quite satisfying nevertheless. Pretty good acid too.
2005
Herbert Messmer - Burrweiler Schawer Riesling Spatlese
Lovely wine with a medium length finish. A touch bit on the sweeter side and hint of future petrol nose is already in place. Nice smooth palate which was not too viscous. Quite enjoyable but perhaps better with age to take a bit of the sugar edge off.
