An exceptionally fresh and quite restrained nose that is fruity without being common as the fruit is mostly pinot with only traces of raspberry and pomegranate that introduce delicious and wonderfully vibrant flavors underpinned by just the right amount of effervescence to allow the full impact of the fruit to come through here as well, all wrapped in a moderately dry, clean and very pure finish. This is positively lovely and fashioned in an understated style with an emphasis on finesse and refinement. I should note that if your taste runs more towards very full-flavored rosés, this is probably not for you as the descriptor understated captures the essential spirit of this wine.

($66; L9405 on front label) Dark pink. Seductively perfumed nose offers energetic red berry and orange scents and an exotic floral oil quality. Fleshy, impressively concentrated strawberry and bitter cherry flavors become tighter on the close and pick up a gentle herbacity, finishing with excellent persistence. The NV Brut Rose is a big, lusty wine bursting with rich, dark red fruit, flowers and mint. This large scaled, broad shouldered wine saturates the palate with layer after layer of flavor. It is a fabulous effort. The Rose is 60% Chardonnay, 28% Pinot Noir and 12% still Pinot, all from Bouzy.

A powerful and impressive rose champagne with a nose of raw potato, plum and leather. Tight, soft and concentrated Pinot flavour with the firm's own almond aroma. Lighter in style lately.

A pretty floral note of fresh cherry blossom winds through flavors of macerated cherry, nut, blackberry, toast and ground ginger. This is vivacious, with zesty acidity and a slight grain to its texture. Long, juicy finish.

Lovely, almost iridescent copper-pink robe with plenty of fine mousse. Bouquet not unlike a 1er Cru red burgundy, with strawberry, mineral and a touch of rhubarb. Fairly substantial mid-palate leading to a long, somewhat toasty finish. This bottle seemed to have more acidity than the last one, which we consumed exactly one year ago to the day. All in all, a lovely, well made champagne and well worth the price.
