Rose Champagne Blend
Producer Notes

Billecart-Salmon was established in 1818 by Nicolas-Francois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon in the town of Mareuil-sur-Ay. It is one of the few Champagne houses still owned by the original family. The house is renowned for its non-vintage rose, but also makes vintage champagnes and a Brut Reserve (a blend of three vintages). Billecart-Salmon farms 30 hectares of its own fruit and purchases grapes... More »

From 375ml (split) bottle. I must agree with Richard Juhlin's review: this wine should never be consumed young. It's extremely austere and one-dimensional, and reminds me of the quinine water my Dad would use to make cocktails. I got none of the cherry blossom or watermelon essences noted by other tasters and I've experienced in Champagne rose's at one-third the price. Disappointing.

Better than past bottles. It came form an old release since its label is an old one. Well, for non vintage was very good with some live, very nice mature flavors, mainly pears, little earthy.

By far one of my favorite champagnes to date! Pale salmon in color with the tiniest of bubbles, nice floral and strawberry notes and a slight yeasty nose.

I'm generally not one for bubbles but this elegant Rose sparkler definitely merits attention. Captivating aromas and beautiful to look at in the glass. Bursts with citrus and berry flavors, it has great acidity and a nice clean finish.

Bright fruits on the nose including freshly picked cherries, and rhubarb, with a hint of grapefruit. Well balance and very crisp, the freshness and depth make this a thoroughly enjoyable wine. The finish and acid backbone are great. As good as it gets in a non-vintage.

This is my favourite Champagne Rose. Lovely white peach/pale salmon color. Hints of strawberry sorbret. Beautiful acidity, and great mousse.

Everyone Could Use a Little Sparkle...
I love the holidays.  The crisp winter air, the music, the family, the food, and the best part - the bubbly.  Not that you have to wait for a special occasion to break out the Champagne (I certainly don't!) - but the...

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
