Tenute Dettori Renosu Bianco (WINE FRONT) Posted on 11 January 2012. Dettori's Renosu Bianco is mostly vermentino and is allegedly freshened with moscato (juice and skins). The wine is fermented in cement, and comes from some of the poorer grape growing land in Romangia, which is allegedly an intent of Dettori's to create this wine's personality. The fruit is sourced in the valley of Romangia (Sardinia), not in the prized hills, where the soil is sandier and the wines appear less refined and elegant. Each to their own. Renosu also sits outside DOC law to allow Dettori to do whatever he wants, seeking the ultimate in his vision of reflecting terroir. To smell ' baked apples, sweet spice, orange marmalade and almonds. Golden and cloudy in colour, the wine shows bulbous fruit texture ' more baked apples, mandarin juice, peach nectar and preserved lemons ' there is slatey texture and a dryness that feels almost tannin-like too. Curiously delicious, the wine finishes long, sweetish and with a gentle phenolic crunch. Yeah!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
