August West Winery is jointly owned by winemaker Ed Kurtzman, grower Gary Franscioni and Howard Graham. The winery specializes in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah sourced from Russian River Valley and the Santa Lucia Highlands vineyards owned by the partners. The wines of August West have developed a devoted following and represent the highest quality. More »

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
