Drink Dates 2013-2021

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is gorgeous in this vintage. In 2011, the straight Napa Valley bottling also included the Corona, which Brown didn't feel was strong enough on its own, although it adds considerable mid-palate pliancy here. The 2011 boasts striking depth, radiance and balance, all in the mid-weight style of the year. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2021.

Pretty good. Some fruit, but also non-fruit notes -- maybe tobacco and leather. I haven't had a 2011 Napa cab that wowed me yet...

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
