Bright gold. Musky aromas of poached pear, peach pit and nutmeg, with a minerally topnote. Concentrated, fleshy and opulent, showing impressively intense peach and pear skin flavors without coming across as overly weighty. Finishes with excellent clarity and length, leaving a spicy note behind.

The 2010 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard is laced with lovely precision and class. White flowers, crushed rocks, yellow stone fruits and apricots emerge from this pretty, expressive Chardonnay. The McCrea is one of the more open 2010s here today. Its essential understated elegance comes through in spades. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
