This impressive rating by THE REVERSE WINE SNOB was my reason for buying this wine at Costco. Next week at wife's birthday dinner we'll have "Italian". I'll give our opinion then and decide if I will buy more. "The 2010 La Massa Toscana begins with a simply wonderful aroma of succulent blackberries, vanilla, spice and some really fragrant floral notes. Tasting the wine reveals tons of rich, juicy fruit (mostly dark berries), along with licorice, some nice spice, a bit of smoke and dusty tannins. The La Massa really opens up beautifully after about an hour in the glass, so you'll want to plan ahead just a bit. It ends dry, with a medium-long finish of slightly sour fruit. Massively good, I'll take more La Massa please -- especially at this price!"

Very nice mini super tuscan. Nice berry and floral overtones throughout. Clean unburdened finish.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
