Red Pinot Noir
Producer Notes

The emergence of Williams Selyem as one of California's Pinot Noir leaders is an improbable success story. Drink Dates 2013-2019

The 2009 Pinot Noir Rochioli Riverblock Vineyard is a big, burly wine loaded with dark fruit. This is one of the richer wines in this lineup, and needs at least another year in bottle for some of the baby fat to melt off. Spices, licorice and dried flowers wrap around the dense, muscular finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019.

Very rich and concentrated, this delivers layered flavors built around ripe plum, wild berry and black cherry, joined by wilted rose and spicy aromatics that are still a little diffuse, yet offer plenty of depth and complexity.

Good paring with red meats. One of the more solid vintages to date.

A truly amazing wine. Complex as hell.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
