Producer Notes

Michael Terrien makes Obsidian Ridge under the same umbrella company, Tricycle Wine Co., where he also creates Kasmer & Blaise and Molnar. This label is comprised of impressively made value wines with reasonably modest production. The owner, Peter Molnar, also controls a cooperage in Hungary and only Hungarian oak is used for all three brands, creating interesting reference points. More »

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
