Up until 1973, patriarch and proprietor Aime Sabon sold the entire production of this estate to cooperatives. In 1991, his son Christophe took over the running of the Domaine La Janasse, named after a family camp in Courthezon. Shows just like a baby CdP. Color: Mostly purple with a tinge of red, a dark center. Aromas and flavors: Licorice, creme d cassis, fresh cut flowers, cherry, spice and earth. Sensual, complex, this is one heck of a Cotes du Rhone village. A wonderful expression of fruit, with superb depth, length, and great acidity.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
