Lots of toasty, smoky oak the first night. Double-decanted back into the bottle, vacuvin'd and tasted again the next day. Still on the oaky side, but as the wood blew off, there was lots of dense black fruit, some subtle meat and herb aromas, and fine medium tannin. Delicious, although not immediately. Perhaps Ventoux's finest producer, and certainly one of the more modern ones. Hold for a year or two.
