Drink Dates 2011-2016

A simple yet powerful grenache from the homeland. Feels rich on the palate, with lots of ripe cherry and lots of toast and oak giving way to some minerality backed by that oak on the finish. It's very Spanish and much different than the Grenache across the Pyrenees. Solid and will evolve for several years but an enjoyable drink on its own or with food today. Great effort for a $13 wine.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
