Issue Issue 150

($60) Vivid yellow. Highly perfumed aromas of orange blossom, lemon peel and spicecake. Less opulent than the Heintz, showing a silky texture and impressive energy to its ripe citrus, pear and spice flavors. Finishes youthfully vibrant and long, with insistent notes of candied citrus and spices.

Tremendous concentration yet displays some restraint and remains well balanced. Core of ripe tropical fruit complemented by flavors of buttered popcorn. Nice round, luscious mouthfeel. Long, palate coating finish.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
