Tamarack Cellars was founded in 1998 by winemaker Ron Coleman in Walla Walla, Washington. Production is focused on small quantities of red wine: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Quite suprising and significantly better than the last vintage of this I had about 10 years ago. Vanilla, light oak, and more complexity than expected coming from an 18 dollar bottle. Some structure would allow this to go for another 5 years. Will be getting another bottle.

Aromas of cassis with just a hint of smoke. Deep berry & plum body with a silky finish. WS rates it 49th of the top 100 for 2010. I wouldn't go that far but this is a really nice Cab blend for the price. Tasted twice with consistent results.
