Straw color with lots of clear reflectivity. Great nose, clean, wet stone, light lemon and a touch toasty. Medium + body on the palate. Nice acid level. Flavors of lemon and lots of stone/gravel/mineral. A clean non-malo Chardonnay with good acid to aid it for several more years.

Tasted at the winery. What a surprise! This Chardonnay is fresh and live - on the nose and early in the mouth, it quacks like a Sauvignon Blanc. Some acidity and citrus here that I wasn't expecting. Not a heavy oak-and-butter chardonnay. A solid base of mineral and gravel with a wash of dried pears, tangerine and walnut shells. Delightful, ready to drink. I'd be bolder than usual in my food pairings with this one.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
