I've been waiting to uncork this for a number of years! I was not disappointed! In the glass, the wine was dark purple. The nose was intense, filled with dark fruit and spice! The tannins were present, but did not dominate the palate. There was plenty of rich fruit! The finish was that of chocolate, mocha, spice, and quite long! Loved it! I'll hold my last bottle of the 2008 for 3-5 more years before I uncork it!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
